Advocate Medical Group reported that there has been office burglary on July 15 of an Advocate administrative office in Park Ridge, Ill., and discovered that their four computers were stolen, which were having patient information and this is the second biggest HIPAA Breach, however Advocate Medical Group further mentioned that they had launched an investigation and found that while the computers did not contain patient medical records, they did contain house patient information, including names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers.
The most important thing about the HIPAA Breach was that even though computers were password-protected but not encrypted. Advocate Health Care has been working with local investigation authorities to recover the stolen computers.
According to the information found from HHS indicates that this is the second HIPAA Breach happened at Advocate Health Care.
