Certified HIPAA Privacy Associate Course Outline

Basic HIPAA Training prepares you for the HIPAA certification exam of Certified HIPAA Privacy Associate (CHPA®). This course is the perfect basic HIPAA training course for new hires, students, and the general workforce. The latest HIPAA changes under ARRA’s HITECH Act of 2009 are incorporated in the class and Omnibus rule of 2013. This 120 minute basic HIPAA training course covers everything healthcare workers need to know about HIPAA Privacy and Security. The online HIPAA overview course is intended for employees, medical students, and volunteers who need a general awareness of HIPAA. This HIPAA Certification Exam meets job role-based training requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Certificate for Continuing Education Credits:

Students can buy a CE credits certificate for this course at the time of registration. You will receive 2 CE credits for this course through the Approved Provider of California Board of Registered Nursing after completing the course.

Basic HIPAA Training Target Audience:

HIPAA Certification Exam:

You are tested once you complete the entire course. You need to pass the 12-question test (Six questions per chapter) with 70% to receive the Certified HIPAA Privacy Associate (CHPA®) certification.

The test runs for 20 minutes (10 minutes allowed per chapter) and can be taken once only. If you pass the test, you can print your certification immediately. If you fail the test, you can pay $75 to retake the test.

Test Format: Multiple Choice Questions.

By doing CHPA course I got a more accurate knowledge of HIPAA regulations, I learned about the Privacy and Security rules and how they apply to Covered Entities and the different types of Business Associates. I really think that HIPAA training is pivotal for any company that works with Health information and for its employees since HIPAA compliance is a legal requirement.
