This course is the annual refresher discussion for HIPAA, HITECH, Omnibus, and Developments for 2015. Individuals with certifications of CHPE, CHSE, and CHPSE need to take this course to maintain their credentials. In January of 2016, a Notice of Prospective Rulemaking (NPRM) was issued by HHS regarding a modification to HIPAA, allowing certain information about individuals to be accessed and used when doing background checks through NICS on those seeking to make firearms purchases. As this was released, when we were creating the course, we have added this information to the course too. This course was released in Q1 of 2016 for activities related to 2015.
